Welcome to Murm.

Murm is where people come when they need to feel something real — a walk with someone who listens, a sit in a park with no agenda, or a conversation that helps you breathe again.

Our Partners are real, verified humans. Our venues are real, open public places. And the people who use Murm are real people at real moments in their lives.

Murm can match you with a Partner and have you sitting across from them in a public venue within 15 minutes of opening the app. That speed is powerful — and it requires trust.

The guidelines below exist to protect that trust and keep the instant model safe.

How Murm Works — The Instant Model

Murm operates as a real-time, on-demand service with no scheduling.

  1. You open the app and select your emotional intent.
  2. You see available Partners near you.
  3. You send an instant request.
  4. The Partner has 90 seconds to accept.
  5. If accepted, both of you head independently to the nearest trusted venue.
  6. You typically meet within 15 minutes.

Think of it like calling a cab — except what arrives is human presence.

Because this happens quickly, the rules below must remain clear and non-negotiable.

The Murm Rules

  1. Murm is for emotional support only.

    Sessions are platonic emotional support interactions. Murm is not a dating platform, escort service, therapy service, or matchmaking app.

  2. All meetings must happen at Murm trusted venues.

    Sessions must occur only at the confirmed venue listed in your session notification.

  3. Stay on the platform before your session.

    Do not exchange phone numbers, social handles, email addresses, or other off-platform contact details before meeting.

  4. Respect comes first.

    Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or abusive behaviour is not tolerated.

  5. Be who you say you are.

    Do not impersonate another person or create fake accounts. One person may only maintain one Murm account.

  6. Partners are companions — not counsellors.

    Murm Partners are not licensed therapists or medical professionals and must not present themselves as such.

  7. Keep it safe.

    Use Murm's safety features including Emergency 112, Share Meeting Spot, and Safety Agent support.

  8. No physical contact beyond an appropriate greeting.

    Sessions are not physically intimate. Any physical contact beyond a greeting requires explicit mutual consent.

  9. Protect others' privacy.

    Do not record sessions or share another user's information without consent.

  10. Adults only.

    Murm is strictly for individuals aged 18 years and above.

  11. No commercial activity.

    Do not use Murm sessions to promote products, recruit, fundraise, conduct research, or perform transactions outside Murm's payment system.

  12. One session, one booking, one User.

    Each booking covers one User meeting one Partner.

  13. Be responsible members of the community.

    Report violations honestly. Malicious or false reports are themselves a violation.

Reporting

If something feels wrong — report it. Every report is treated confidentially.

Consequences

Violations of these Guidelines may result in:

  • Formal warning
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent ban from the platform
  • Referral to law enforcement where required

Serious violations — including violence, fraud, impersonation, sexual misconduct, or activity involving minors — will result in immediate permanent removal and may be reported to authorities.

Murm is built on trust. Help us keep it that way.
